Hello and welcome to Our Lady of Grace and the B.A.S.C. program. My name is Amy Keller and I am the director of the program. Below you will find some helpful tips and directions to get us started. Please take the time to read all of the information so that we will have a safe and smooth start.
Ms. Phyllis and Ms. Kelsey will supervise the primary students. Ms. Eda and Mr. Alex will be in charge of students in grades four through eight. Mrs. Lovins is the morning helper.
Entering the Building
Our program is located in the gym. We will use the entrance located between the church and the gym. You will enter through the two glass doors. These doors are kept locked at all times. There is a doorbell located on the brick gym wall just over the garbage receptacle for your convenience.
It is imperative that you sign your child in and out of the program. No child may be dropped off and not signed in, nor may children sign in or out for themselves. The sign in/out book will be located in the gym on the parent table.
The parent Mail box is also located on the parent table. Please check your child’s mail folder daily for important information. (Emergency information is always communicated immediately.) This is also where you will find your tuition bill every MONDAY. Please do not put your payment back into your mail folder. There is a payment box provided on the parent table.
After School Activities
If your child will be attending an after school activity during the program time, you MUST notify me in advance. (i.e. Art Studio, drama, etc.) Permission will not be granted for your child to attend unless I have prior notification. The safety of your child at B.A.S.C. is our number one priority.
Absence or Schedule Change
Please call if your child will be absent from the program or his/her schedule has changed. When a child is scheduled for the day and does not check into the program great effort is put into locating him/her. The phone number for the program is: 513-314-6352. Likewise, when your child is coming to B.A.S.C. and is not scheduled for the day, please call and let us know that he/she is coming. There will be a charge of $2.00 for a child who is absent and we have not received a phone call from you. Again, this is for the safety of your child.
A.M. The program starts at 6:30 and continues until school starts. We are located in the gym. We will have various activities such as arts, crafts, board games, and group games.
P.M. The program starts at 3:00 and continues until 6:00.
3:00 – 3:15 Check in and hand washing
3:15 – 3:30 Snack and socialization.
3:30 – 4:15 Homework time
4:15 – 6:00 Outdoor activities, if the weather is permitting, otherwise activities are held in the gym.
Snacks are provided by the program. Due to allergies there is no outside food allowed without authorization by the director. All snacks that are provided are nut free.
Grades two through eight participate in homework time. Grade Kindergarten and first grade are given the opportunity to participate in homework if they choose. If not, they will participate in scheduled activities with Ms. Kelsey and Ms. Phyllis during this time.
It is important that your child bring a pencil, homework paper, and a book for silent reading (in case there is no homework that day) every single day. It becomes very difficult for the program to provide homework supplies for your child each day. This also provides your child with an opportunity to succeed in responsibility.
Pick-Up in the Afternoon
Please pick up your child in the gym in the afternoon. A teacher will be there to contact your child via walkie-talkie should we be outside. Again, your child must be signed out.
Payment is due the Thursday of the week prior to service being rendered. Payments may be dropped in the designated box on the parent table. If paying in cash please put it in the envelope provided and mark your child’s name on the front. If paying by check or money order PLEASE note your child’s name in the memo. Checks should be made out to B.A.S.C. There will be a fee of $10.00 per week for every late payment. Your tuition bill is located in your child’s mail folder on the parent table. The bill should be picked up at B.A.S.C. and paid at B.A.S.C. It will not be delivered to your child’s classroom and will not go home in the Wednesday folders.
Tuition is a standard cost per day. The pricing break down is attached to this form, but is always subject to change every year.
Late Sign Out
There is a late sign out fee of $10.00 for the first 15 minutes. After that time a fee of $1.00 per minute will be attached.
The program is open when school has a scheduled day off as long as you pre-register for the day. The price for Holiday Care is $30.00 a day. Registration forms are sent home via parent mail boxes a couple weeks in advance. There is deadline for registrations, no late registrations accepted. Program can be canceled if not enough enrollment. Holiday Care hours are 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There is a non-refundable $20.00 holding fee if you choose not to show after registering for the day.
