Ms. Hannah Sexton

As a child, I always had trouble answering the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”  I had so many interests, the answer to that question changed monthly, weekly, or sometimes even daily!  However, the one profession that I kept coming back to was teaching (because there are no ballet-dancing, piano-playing librarian meteorologists, or so I’ve been told).  My parents bought some antique school desks, and we already had the chalkboard, so it seemed to make sense that we would play “school”.  As the oldest of three, of course I was always the teacher, with my two younger brothers as my “students”.  It’s not easy trying to keep an 8 and 6-year old in their seats when you’re only 10!

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education.  I spent the next 4 years subbing around the Cincinnati area, including 2 long-term assignments.  During those 4 years, I subbed in every grade from preschool to 12, but 2nd grade has always been my favorite.  This summer, my dream was finally realized when I found myself accepting my first teaching position at Our Lady of Grace in 2nd grade!  As a first-year teacher, I could not have asked for a more caring and supportive group of people than the ones you will find here.  Indeed, OLG is not just a school; it’s a community of students, staff, and families that work together to make sure that each student is best they can be, and I am truly blessed and grateful that I get to call myself an Eagle!
