Kathy Prough is a graduate of Stephen T. Badin High School. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. This is also where she met her husband Todd, and they recently celebrated their 20th anniversary as a Miami Merger! Kathy has 2 children, Alex and Emma, and a beloved golden retriever named Tucker! Alex attends Talawanda High School and will be a junior this year, and Emma will be an 8th grader at St. Joseph Consolidated School in Hamilton. The family recently moved out to the country in Oxford... and so things have come full circle with Miami, where it all began!

Things again come full circle for Kathy, as she returns to OLG! Kathy was formerly a 4th grade Language Arts, Reading, and Religion teacher here, and is passionate about returning to the staff and students she loves at OLG. She is a trained musician, and continues to perform for various celebrations of our Catholic faith, including weddings and Masses. Kathy has a broad background in education and has taught many grade levels, with a brief hiatus as a stay-home mom with her own children, which she loved.

In the last few years, Kathy taught for St. Joe's in Hamilton as a 6th grade homeroom teacher in most subjects, and was also the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science teacher. She is anxious to use her creativity in the classroom with STEM learning, hand on activities, and labs!

Her true passion is in the area of writing and reading, and she has a diverse background and training to enhance the students' knowledge in these areas. Students will be able to explore their creative side with writing, all while accomplishing set goals and benchmarks throughout the year.
