If you want to soar, surround yourself with Eagles!

Welcome to the wonderful world of fourth grade! I am so excited to be teaching this grade level at Our Lady of Grace School. I believe each child is unique and is a special gift from God. I look forward to sparking their interest in the different genres offered through literature and the use of the Four Square Writing Method. I teach math to all the fourth graders. I firmly believe that a good math foundation is based on their knowledge of the facts for the four basic operations. I will challenge them as we delve into the various concepts, including multi-digit multiplication and division. Each student will be involved in the Accelerated Math Program. I love this program because it helps the students experience success on their level, and it is a wonderful opportunity for enrichment for those who are ready to move ahead! Learning is something that can and should be enjoyed by all ages. I am dedicated to creating a warm, safe environment that will be conducive to learning and allow students to grow to their fullest potential, academically, spiritually, emotionally, artistically and physically.

I love working with children of all ages and have been doing so since high school. I was born and raised in Cincinnati. I graduated from St. James the Greater and McAuley High School. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and have my Advanced Catechist Certification. I have been teaching for twenty-nine years and each day is a new experience!

I have been honored with McAuley Inspirational Teaching Awards, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, the local Time Warner Cable Co-Acts Awards and their National Teacher Crystal Apple Awards. These last two awards were for the creative use of technology in the classroom. I truly enjoy collaborating with colleagues in cross-curricular projects, which incorporate various forms of technology. I will continue to use technology, along with several other learning styles, so that each child will have an opportunity to shine!

I currently reside in Indiana with my wonderful husband of twenty-six years and our son. We also have a daughter who lives in Columbus with her husband and their daughter. Being a parent is an awesome gift from God, but being a grandma is so much fun!!!
