Originally from Western Hills, I am an alumnus of St. Catharine School and Mother of Mercy High School. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and am certified grades 1 through 8. I also hold an Advanced Catechetical Certificate.
My first teaching position was at my alma mater, St. Catharine. I took time off to raise my children before returning as a fourth grade teacher at Little Flower where I remained for 16 years. In addition to teaching, I started and directed the Little Flower Drama Club for 11 years producing musicals including “Annie, JR.” and ‘Oz!” I also organized the annual Talent Show. I continue to promote both activities at Our Lady of Grace. (Yes, I am a “Drama Queen!”)
I’ve been recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and am a recipient of the Time Warner Cincinnati CoActs Award. I received a Greater Cincinnati Foundation Grant for a project I initiated about the Ohio Mound Builders along with yearly grants from the Thomas J. Rebold Foundation for Youth Performing Arts to continue the work of the Drama Club. The best rewards by far though are the smiles on students’ faces when they actually “get it” on a new or confusing topic. This is why I teach!
I am very happy to have the opportunity to teach my favorite subjects in my favorite grade — fourth grade Language Arts, Religion and Social Studies. By promoting hands-on projects and strategies to increase student contributions, I hope to provide a safe and positive learning experience for all of my students as we shape our school community together.
My husband, Jeff, and I have been active members of Little Flower Parish for over 30 years. We have two married children and a grandson.
With God all things are possible! I’m looking forward to a great new year!
